One dead as bus rams motorbike

Rescue 1122 ambulances shifted the victims to a local hospital

RAWALPINDI:

At least one person was killed and two others were injured when a speeding bus lost control and ran over them on Thursday. The Cantonment police station said that 23-year-old youngster, identified as Bilal Sajid, died as a result of the crash, while 50-year-old Yaqoob and 19-year-old Usman sustained injuries. Rescue 1122 ambulances shifted the victims to a local hospital. Cantt police officials said that the bus was ferrying staff of a pharmaceutical company to the factory near Faizabad from Saddar in Rawalpindi. However, the brakes of the vehicle failed and it swerved. The vehicle hit two motorcyclists and a roadside pedestrian. It then jumped over the median strip before coming to a stop when it rammed into the pavement. The police have registered a case against the driver of the bus and arrested him.
