Lahore woman 'robs' husband of agricultural land, jewellery

Suspect also makes off with dowry, animals and a tractor from the house

A woman, with the help of her relatives, allegedly seized more than 58 kanals of land from her husband, an elderly man, in Lahore's Raiwind area on Wednesday.

She also looted jewellery worth Rs4 million as well as dowry, animals and a tractor from the house.

Her 70-year-old husband, identified as Din Mohammad, a resident of Mohalla Masjid Shah, Mouza Jia Baga, implored the Punjab IGP for help.

According to the application given by the complainant, his wife, Rahmani Bibi, had prepared a bogus power of attorney and seized the land by conspiring with the Patwari who oversaw ownership of his property.

The complainant added that his wife used a fake thumbprint to handover the property in the name of Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Faryad,

According to the complainant, 15 to 20 men broke into his house and looted this daughters' dowry along with stealing his animals worth millions.

“When my neighbours came to help me they [the culprits] ran away,” he wrote.
