Educational institute in Islamabad sealed after coronavirus cases
Infections reported the same day when educational institutions reopened ending six month-long break
ISLAMABAD:
An educational institute in Islamabad has been sealed after the emergence of 16 Covid-19 infections, National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) said on Tuesday.
As per details shared by the NCOC, with the institution being sealed, the contact tracing is currently underway to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
The infections were reported the same day when schools, colleges and universities across Pakistan have been reopened, ending a nearly six-month-long closure due to coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier in the day, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood had said that the federal authorities would assist the educational institutions for conducting coronavirus tests wherever needed.
Mahmood, while talking to journalists during a visit to a government school in the federal capital, urged the administration of educational centres for strict implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs). “We are monitoring every school including the transport services,” Mahmood added.
He went onto say that there are around 215 universities in the country and almost every university has a hostel. “Education centres would be closed after a warning over violation of SOPs as it is very important to maintain safety guidelines to stop the spread of the virus,” He added.
There should be online classes and exams as Federal Minister said that Corona is not over.......For Allah sake dont take risk on many lives.
Many insititutes are still ignoring the SOPs implemented by the Government. Action should be taken against them. They are openly playing with mant lives like Nisa Girls College Sialkot.
Appreciated on quick and prompt action on suspect of corona. Hope all universities will b alerted snd take care of it. Good job done
For college and universaties online education is sufficient, while many private colleges don,t have their hostels.
Educational institutes in capital must be sealed otherwise covid May cause some alarming situations
It is early to open because I believe it is a risk and for sure cases are present families tend not to disclose plus I see people saying it is not covid without any proof or verification. Cancel exams particular Cambridge at this hour students to be awarded predicted grades.
