Kangana Ranaut says women when pushed, can become ‘dangerous, lethal’
Actor Kangana Ranaut has shared a message for her detractors on Twitter and warned them about the kind of women they shouldn’t underestimate. The actor departed from Mumbai on Monday, after spending several eventful days there, according to the Hindustan Times.
She posted an old picture of herself early Tuesday morning and wrote, “A woman’s compassion and gentleness are often taken for her weakness; never push someone to a point where they have nothing to lose anymore. You only give them freedom that not only makes them dangerous but lethal as well.”
Ranaut has been engaged in a war of words with the Uddhav Thackeray government, which escalated last week during her Mumbai visit. She arrived in Mumbai to the news that her Pali Hill property had been partially demolished by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), citing structural violations.
Ranaut alleged that the action was politically motivated since she had earlier compared Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, which she doubled down on in a tweet announcing her departure. Following this, party leader Sanjay Raut had condemned her comments about feeling unsafe in the city.
Ranaut also responded to the Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan's recent remarks against her. During a Tuesday’s parliament session, Bachchan had condemned comments made by Ranaut, especially the one where she compared the film industry to a ‘gutter’.
Bachchan had spoken in detail about an alleged ‘conspiracy to defame the film industry’. She said, "People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that the government tells such people not to use this kind of language."
In response, Ranaut tweeted, “Jaya ji, would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenager, would you say the same thing if Abhishek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and was found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also.”
