RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Ahsan Younas on Monday issued a show-cause notice to six station house officers of the city for refusing to issue e-tag numbers to applying citizens. The directions were issued as Younas chaired a khulli kacheri (town hall) meeting on Monday. During the khulli kacheri, which was held physically while keeping all novel coronavirus (Covid-19) safety guidelines, the CPO heard complaints by 49 participants. While directing to resolve their problems, the CPO also called up the relevant officers on the spot. He added that officers should resolve complaints within the deadlines he has set and that delays will not be tolerated. On the issue of not providing e-tags on complaints lodged by the public, CPO Younas issued show-cause notices to the SHOs of the Waris Khan, Bani, Sadiqabad, Rawat, Kotli Sattiyan, and Morgah. He further directed that SHOs and police post in-charges must issue complainants e-tags.
