LAHORE:

A robbery bid was thwarted by National Highways and Motorways Police (NH&MP) on Monday. A spokesperson for NH&MP Lahore said suspected criminals in a car were trying to loot a trailer truck near Rahim Yar Khan. They were spotted by Anti-Crime Wing of NH&MP. On seeing the squad, they tried to flee from the scene. The police team followed them. The team also resorted to firing. Tires of the car burst due to firing. The suspects travelled as long as 11 kilometres on the burst tires. When police intercepted them, they managed to flee from the scene because of darkness. Local police was called to the location, who collected forensic evidence from the scene, including fingerprints. The car was also handed over to local police.
