Coronavirus claims two lives in Punjab
With 77 fresh infections, province-wide total exceed 97,670

Covid-19 has claimed two more lives in the province, while the number of cases of the disease has exceeded 97,670 after registration of 77 new patients.
A spokesperson for the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department said on Sunday that the total number of deaths caused by the pandemic in the province so far is 2,217. The P&SHD confirmed that 28 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Lahore, 17 in Gujranwala, nine in Jhang, seven in Faisalabad, three each in Rawalpindi and Multan, two each in Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur and one each in Gujrat, Vehari, Chiniot, Mianwali, Bahawalnagar and Pakpattan districts during the last 24 hours.
The Punjab health department has conducted 1,064,964 tests for novel coronavirus and 94,453 confirmed patients have recovered altogether in the province.
The department has urged the people to follow the standard operating procedures announced by the government for their protection and cover their faces with masks.
The people should wash their hands with soap several times in a day to protect themselves from Covid -19 and contact phone number 1033 immediately on noticing symptoms of coronavirus, the healthcare department urged the citizens.
