LAHORE:

Lahore High Court’s Justice Sajid Mehmood Sethi sought detailed report from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) by Sept 18 restraining it from further proceeding on a plea challenging the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) investigation carried out against Faruki Pulp Mills Limited in light of the inquiry commission of sugar scandal.

Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Sajid Mehmood Sethi on Wednesday sought a detailed report from the FIA by September 18 regarding the Faruki Pulp Mills Limited case, while restraining it from further probe into the matter.

The high court justice was hearing a plea challenging FIA investigation carried out against Faruki Pulp Mills Limited in which the petitioner termed the probe ‘beyond the statutory jurisdiction of the agency’.

The petitioner contended in the court that Shehzad Akbar had unlawfully directed the FIA and SECP to start an investigation against Faruki Pulp Mills Limited.
