Bollywood stands in solidarity with Rhea Chakraborty after arrest
A number of Bollywood celebrities have turned to social media to show support for, and demand justice for Rhea Chakraborty in the wake of her arrest linked to ex Sushant Singh Rajput's death, reported Hindustan Times.
Many big names in the industry shared a quote about 'smashing the patriarchy' coupled with the hashtag #JusticeForRhea, shortly after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Chakraborty on the grounds of a drug case. Earlier, her brother Showik was arrested as well for the same reason after WhatsApp conversations revolving around drugs were circulated online.
The quote, "Roses are red, violets are blue, Let’s smash the patriarchy me and you," was seen on Chakraborty's shirt on Tuesday, her third day of interrogation with the NCB, and was reposted by numerous industry people, including Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, etc.
Many chose to only post the quote, while others also added the hashtag calling for justice for Chakraborty. Actor Sonam Kapoor even added a quote by author Walter Kirn that says, "Everyone loves a witch hunt as long as it’s someone else’s witch being hunted."
