Shallwani vows to improve KMC

Newly appointed Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Administrator Iftikhar Shallwani vowed on Tuesday to make all-out efforts for resolving the issues faced by the KMC and improve its performance. Presiding over a meeting, attended by the heads of different departments of the KMC, he said no negligence should be tolerated on part of officials with regards to the fulfillment of their duties and urged department heads to realise the importance of serving common interest. He said from now onwards, KMC would function to benefit and develop the city, adding that he would personally hear the public’s grievances and ensure their redressal. Shallwani also inquired about the ongoing development work in the city and ordered officials to complete uplift initiatives as soon as possible. Moreover, he directed officials to meet revenue targets so as to improve the KMC’s income.
