IO told to declare accused absconders

The reference pertains to illegal land allotment

KARACHI:

An accountability court directed on Monday the investigation officer (IO) to complete the process of declaring the accused, who are on the run, as absconders in a reference pertaining to the illegal land allotment.

Meanwhile, the arrested accused, including former local government secretary Roshan Ali Shaikh and others, appeared before the court. The IO presented a report regarding the accused and informed the court that the process of declaring others who were on the run as absconders had been started. According to the National Accountability Bureau, the accused had allegedly allotted 256 acres of land in Korangi illegally.

The court directed the IO to complete the process soon and adjourned the hearing till September 12.
