Critically acclaimed street artist Banksy's anonymity over the years has given rise to various theories about his real identity. The most latest and perhaps one of the strangest theories see Art Attack presenter Neil Buchanan as the mind behind Banksy.

The idea began to circulate last week when a Twitter user suggested it was “rumoured” that Buchanan was in fact the mind behind artworks like Balloon Girl and Love is in the Bin, reported The Independent. Buchanan had hosted the show on ITV from 1990 to 2007.

The theory was given weight by alluding to Buchanan like Banksy being a musician, having played for the heavy metal band Marseille. Also Banksy's art allegedly followed in cities where Buchanan has done shows.

Buchanan has subsequently denied being the secretive artist."We have been inundated with enquiries over the weekend regarding the current social media story."Unfortunately, this website does not have the infrastructure to answer all these enquiries individually, however, we can confirm that there is no truth in the rumour whatsoever."
