PESHAWAR:

A woman gave birth to quintuplets at the Lady Reading Hospital in the provincial capital on Sunday.

Muhammad Asim, a spokesperson for the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) spokesperson, told The Express Tribune that a woman hailing from the Baghban area of Peshawar had been brought into the Gynecology Ward of the hospital at around 2pm on Sunday. She gave birth to five children, including three boys and two girls, he said.

He added that two of the newborns have been admitted to the intensive care unit but the condition of the rest of the newborns, and their mother, was stable.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, the father of the newborns, Shahidullah said that he was very happy that God had blessed him with five babies.

“I am at a loss of words to express my gratitude for the blessings God has bestowed upon me and my wife,” he added. Shahidullah further said that his wife had to undergo an operation to deliver the children because her condition was not well.
