Lahore National Accountability Bureau (NAB) claimed to have arrested former LDA chief engineer Israr Saed involved in LOS Drainage corruption case on Saturday. The accused allegedly committed embezzlement of millions of rupees in the construction of a double road extension from Ferozepur Road to Multan Road. Initially, the cost of the project was stated as Rs630 million. Later on, after the intervention of the accused, the construction cost was multiplied seven times. NAB alleged that the accused, due to a dishonest mind, ignored the reservations of the consultant and made payments that gave benefits of millions of rupees to the private contractors. He had been presented before the accountability court for physical remand.
