Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad assured the religious scholars of the government’s support in taking action against those who disrupt religious harmony in the country.
He stated this during a meeting with Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Moulana Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Khateeb of Badshahi Mosque, Moulana Abdul Khabir Azad among other 24 religious scholars on Saturday.
He also paid tribute to the armed forces for rooting out terrorism and maintaining law and order in Pakistan.
Matters regarding inter-faith harmony came under discussion during this meeting. While talking to the media, Sarwar said that religious scholars from all schools of thought have been playing an exemplary role in promoting interfaith harmony in Pakistan.
“All of us have to fight those elements that ignite flames of sectarianism in Pakistan,” he said.
Sarwar maintained that under the leadership of PM Imran Khan, the PTI-led government has taken aboard religious scholars from all schools of thought. He remarked that brotherhood and tolerance will prevail in Pakistan.
