Long working hours and sleepless nights affecting you under-eyes? Try these remedies

Entertainment Desk September 05, 2020

Long working hours and incessant exposure to phone screens affecting your sleep on the daily mean that almost all of us are left lamenting our dark circles at some point these days.

But what do you do when all your usual skincare hacks fail, and you don’t have enough time for long sleeping hours to reset your body or enough money to invest in even more expensive treatments?

You bring in the age-old home remedies, of course! Cracking out the at-home staples seems to always work like a charm and the same goes for when you need to tackle stubborn, deep, dark circles and eye bags. Read on to find three simple home-made hacks to deal with them, as compiled from Pinkvilla.

Cold compress

Tried, tested and routinely loved, this one simple hack is the oldest trick in the book! Directly using ice can reduce the appearance of dark circles by de-puffing the area around your eye, instantly brightening you up. Try this one if you are on-the-go and need a quick lift-me-up.

Potatoes

Potato starch is known to combat dark circles which means using potato as an eye mask can help you achieve that brightening effect over time. What’s more: potatoes also contain essential vitamins that can boost collagen production, making the area look healthier!

Extract a little potato juice and soak a few cotton pads in it. Cover your eyes with them and leave it for 10 minutes!

Eye massage

Regularly massaging the area around your eyes aides with blood circulation, thereby helping the area go through wear and tear better, which then enables you to look fresher over time! A regular, gentle eye massage will also make the skin around your eyes firmer and reduce obvious signs of ageing like crow’s feet etc. What more do we want, right?
