Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department earmarked Rs353,000 for the 263th Urs of Sufi Saint Baba Bulleh Shah on Friday. Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs Minister Syed Saeedul Hassan Shah inaugurated the Urs celebrations while performing traditional Chadar on the grave of the saint. Later on, special prayers were offered for development and prosperity of the country. Auqaf Secretary Dr Arshad Ahmad, Director General Syed Tahir Raza Bokhari, officials of the district administration, the clergy and a large number of devotees were also present on the occasion. The auqaf department had allocated Rs353,000 for holding ceremonies and for free food to visitors. Addressing the participants on the occasion, the provincial minister said he issued directions for renovation of all shrines under said department. Meanwhile, the police had made foolproof security arrangements during the Urs.
