ISLAMABAD:

With right policies of the government, Pakistan's economy is heading towards the take-off phase and the business community should have complete confidence in future of the country, remarked President Dr Arif Alvi.

Speaking as chief guest at the 3rd Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Achievement Awards 2020 on Friday, the president reaffirmed that the government was making efforts to introduce institutional reforms aimed at sustainable economic growth.

"The government announced a package of Rs1,200 billion for businesses to combat the impact of Covid-19 pandemic," he pointed out. "The business community should focus on branding of products to promote exports."

Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood, who was present at the ceremony, said "Prime Minister Imran Khan has extended a vision for the economy and let us work hard to make Pakistan a strong economy."

He urged the business community to widen the range of products in a bid to improve exports as the government was focusing on export-led economic growth.
