FAISALABAD:

A dancer who was hired to dance at a birthday party was allegedly raped by two men at gunpoint.

Police have registered a case against four accused, including a man named Sohail Ahmed and his wife Fauzia Bibi who had hired the complainant to dance at their house. The police have started searching for the accused.

The case has been filed by a resident of Haq Bahu Chowk, Gulistan Colony, stating that she used to dance at weddings and birthdays.

She said Ahmed and his wife, a resident of Iqbal Colony, called the victim at their house and told her that she would have to dance there at a birthday party.

Reportedly, there were two unknown persons at the dance party.

The complainant said the unidentified people locked her in a room at about 1am and raped her at gunpoint while Ahmed and his wife were standing outside the room.

People from the area gathered when they heard her screams and informed the police.

The D-Type Colony police registered a case under section 376 PPC in the light of medical report and started raids to arrest the accused.

Several cases of rape have been reported in Faisalabad in past months.

On August 13, at least three separate incidents of abuse and rape were reported in the district’s police stations in which a woman and two children were victimised by the perpetrators.
