Salman Khan to earn INR200 mn per episode for 'Big Boss 14'

The actor is currently earning INR85 million per episode for season 13

Aside from giving blockbusters on the box-office, Bollywood's Salman Khan seems to have the same impact on the viewers of the small screen - especially when it comes to his reality TV show Big Boss.

Despite the hyper-dramatic influence the show has, Khan's hosting-stint soars TRPs, the evidence of which is provided by the weekend episodes as TRPs peak when the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor appears on screen, according to Filmfare.

However, this year raised speculations about his fee for Bigg Boss season 14 and now according to a leading daily, the actor has striked a deal worth INR4.5 billion (450 crores) with the makers.

Elaborating on the deal, the outlet quoted the source as saying, “While the three-month stint works out to INR480 crore (4.8 billion), the makers and he agreed to seal the deal at INR450 crore (4.5 billion). The amount is inclusive of his fee for promos and virtual press conferences."

The source added that the show’s producers are willing to pay the remuneration since they know Khan is the primary reason for its popularity.

Furthermore, Big Boss 13 has reportedly been extended by another five weeks, according to the Hindustan Times. The grand finale will now be aired in February, 2021.

And as per Bollywood Hungama, the channel and its producers are paying Salman Khan an extra 200 million per episode to continue as host. With the fee hike, his new remuneration is INR85 million per episode, meaning that he will take home a hefty sum of INR2 billion and more for the entire season.
