Fashion round-up: Who wore what at the VMAs 2020

There was no shortage of stars on the VMAs red carpet in NYC and here are some show-stopping looks

Entertainment Desk September 01, 2020

This year’s MTV Video Music Awards took a sharp turn away from the usual. Thanks to coronavirus, the annual ceremony was held in multiple outdoor arenas across New York City.

While it may have seemed out of the normal, the VMAs still had a huge roster of A-Listers showing up to perform and walk the red carpets, from Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, and Lady Gaga to BTS and The Weeknd. As always, the show was one for the books, especially as the first major event help in-person since the pandemic hit.

Nothing stopped the stars from putting their best (and in some cases, outrageous) feet forward on music’s most iconic night, and here are some of the most captivating looks from the 2020 red carpet.

Never the one to shy away from a bold look, Cyrus chose a flashy Mugler number for the big night, also rocking a classic mullet!

Gaga rocked a total of nine looks at the VMAs this year but what else do you expect from her? The catchiest look, however, was arguably the one where she channeled the Moon Man trophy itself.

· Nicole Richie

Early 2000’s it-girl, Richie opted for a lime-green Cong Tri look that also put a spin on the bow trend we recently highlighted. Take a bow, Nicole!

The host of the night, Palmer had more than just one show-stopping look but one stood out in particular: a pearlescent Area number that also incorporated a dainty bow right at the front with classy, diamante details.

· Jaden Smith

Smith’s abstract jacket caught more than one eye at the big night, putting the focus on his endearingly eccentric personality.

The Kissing Booth starlet chose to go the Versace way and what a classic look to rock on a night like the VMAs it was! She even styled it with Versace-esque jewels to complete the outfit.

· Bebe Rexha

The stunning singer chose a seemingly obscure brand for her look and made a big statement putting them on the map! Rexha’s Lionne Clothing blazer-dress look was smack on for the VMAs.
