The new monsoon system that had left citizens apprehensive in the wake of last week’s rainfall advanced to southern Punjab on Monday without producing the expected downpour in Karachi. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s chief meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz, there was no longer any chance of heavy rain or thunderstorms in Karachi under the sixth monsoon spell, though the port city could witness light rain or drizzle while Tharparkar may receive moderate downpours. The weather is expected to remain cloudy today (Tuesday).
