Infamous ‘Jimmy’ gang busted

Police had previously apprehended three members of the gang

RAWALPINDI:

A gang of dacoits has been busted in Rawalpindi and stolen money worth Rs607,700 along with weapons and ammunition were recovered from its members. A police spokesperson said that the Wah Cantonment police station had received a tip-off about some criminal elements hiding out in the area. A squad from the station, led by the SHO raided their suspected den and apprehended four members of the ‘Jimmy Gang’. The suspects were identified as Adeel Akhter alias Jimmy and the ring leader, Shahbaz, Siddique Haider and Tariq Mehmood. Stolen money worth Rs607,700, weapons and ammunition were recovered from them. During questioning, the suspected gang members allegedly confessed to committing several dacoities, robberies and other crimes in different areas of the district. The police official added that the police had previously apprehended three members of the gang including Nazir, Jibran Ali and Ijaz.
