Sindh Agriculture Minister Ismail Rahoo expressed annoyance on Wednesday at the sight of garbage piled up in areas of Badin affected by the recent rains, and cancelled the leaves of relevant officials.
During his visit to Shaheed Fazil Rahu, Golarchi, Tarai, Phaleli and Amir Shahsim nullah, and other areas, he asked officials to clean the areas immediately, and directed Badin district commissioner to cancel the leaves of all officials and staff members.
Rahoo was of the view that the situation has been normalised in areas where rainwater had collected with district administrations alerted. The work of draining water from low-lying areas, roads and streets in the city as well as rural districts has begun, he said.
The minister was briefed by the Badin deputy commissioner during his visit on the situation post rainfall. A monitoring room has been established at the DC office for providing aid to those affected by the rain, said Rahoo.
Chiding other political parties for playing politics, Rahoo claimed that the Pakistan Peoples Party-led (PPP) provincial government is with the people during these difficult times. This is a time to work together to assist citizens, he said.
