NCOC reviews implementation of Covid-19 SOPs

Directs authorities to speed up measures in areas where menace of spread of virus exists

ISLAMABAD:

The National Command and Control Centre (NCOC) after the restoration of tourism in the country on Wednesday reviewed the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and implementation of health guidelines regarding Covid-19 on travel destinations.

The body encouraged the steps taken for the testing of coronavirus on specific tourist sites.

A meeting of the NCOC under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar was held, which exchanged views on different tourist spots, measures taken by the administration with regard to the month of Muharram and implementation of SOPs.

The forum was informed that violation of SOPs and social distancing guidelines had been observed on the tourist spots due to which the menace of spread of virus in the country existed.

In order to ward off the Covid-19 threat, implementation on measures like wearing face mask, washing hands and maintaining social distance is mandatory.

The participants of the meeting were told that an improvement had been seen in following the SOPs during the Muharram majalis which needed to be further enhanced with the coordination of people.

The forum directed the authorities concerned to speed up the administrative measures regarding the implementation of SOPs on coronavirus in areas where the threat of respiratory illness prevailed.
