LG system facilitates people: SAPM

ISLAMABAD:

Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Capital Development Authority Ali Nawaz Awan has underlined the need for implementing local government (LG) system to facilitate people.

The local bodies are institutions that are supposed to work on micro issues at grass-root level, however, these had been hijacked by provincial governments. “Structural reforms are essential to achieve objectives from the national institutions,” the SAPM said.

He was of the view that there was dire need to provide civic amenities to people at their doorsteps. He said PTI government had taken action against elements involved in creating artificial price hike.
