Ambassador of Turkey to Pakistan Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul has said that Turkey is willing to avail itself of opportunities in the energy sector of Pakistan under the new policy.
During a meeting with Federal Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan at his office on Monday, the Turkish envoy acknowledged the government’s resolve to address energy challenges and the way Pakistan was moving forward to achieve sustainable energy for economic development in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Khan highlighted salient features of the newly approved Alternative Energy Policy and the investment opportunities extended by the government under the policy, which would lead to the production of 75% of electricity through domestic resources by 2030.
He stated, “In line with the new policy, Pakistan will bring modern technology and start production of renewable energy equipment like solar panels, wind turbines and blades.”
The minister added that energy projects would be awarded through open and competitive bidding under the Alternative Energy Policy.
