Britain bans Dr Zakir Naik
LONDON:
The United Kingdom is a tolerant and liberal place. London’s ethnic and religious mix speaks for itself. I’ve witnessed Muslims preaching religion freely on Oxford Street and all other religions peacefully passing by, not pressing the panic button. But it’s hard to think of Christians doing the same on the streets on Karachi. This nation has never permitted religious extremism from any side.
Let us not forget the UK barred Geert Wilders from entering last year on account of Islamic blasphemy. It is their country and they have every right to refuse entry to Dr Zakir Naik if they believe his presence damages national interest.
