CM orders steps to solve city’s problems

Meeting held to discuss measures to facilitate citizens, improve environment

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has urged the departments concerned to undertake concrete measures and consolidated planning for solving parking problems along with eradicating overcharging and other issues of the city.

The CM expressed these views while chairing a meeting relating to Lahore and maintained that he would step into the field to solve the problems of Lahore. Punjab Chief Secretary Jawwad Rafique Malik, IGP Shoaib Dastagir, Social Welfare secretary and high officials of other departments concerned were present on the occasion.

Buzdar assigned tasks to the various departments to uplift Lahore. It was decided to constitute a ministerial committee to solve the problems of Lahore permanently.

“The meeting of the committee will be held every 15 days and concerned departments will submit their relevant reports,” said the CM.

He asserted that action must be taken against those selling charity meat and birds on different roads of the city.

He disclosed that special measures will be taken to save the citizens from stray dogs.

The CM announced that a crackdown will be launched against drug addicts found near metro bus bridges and underpasses. It was also decided to take prompt measures for rooting out the increasing trend of beggary.

It was decided that stern action would be launched against smoke emitting vehicles in order to protect the environment and curb pollution surrounding the city.
