After the tragic passing of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput earlier in June, the industry has been rattled with accusations left and right, with actor Kangana Ranaut seemingly at the forefront of it all, slinging blame on industry bigwigs for 'sidelining' Sushant and calling them out for 'nepotism'.
From claiming that people like Karach Johar and Mahesh Bhatt worked to ruin Sushant's career, to calling out actors like Alia Bhatt for nepotism and terming Taapsee Pannu and Swara Bhasker as 'B-grade' actors, Kangana seems to have virtually spared only a handful. In fact, after the CBI probe into Sushant's death was greenlighted, she went on record again to make a point against nepotism in the industry.
Now, in an interview with Pinkvilla, SSR's family lawyer, Vikas Singh, has explicitly stated that Kangana's statements have no bearing on the course of the case itself, adding onto his family's earlier statement that the FIR into his death was not aimed at the industry ever.
"She's trying to further her own agenda and attack people she has a personal issue with to settle her own scores. She seems to be on her own trip. The family's FIR has nothing to do with her claims at all," stated Vikas, calling her claims 'unimportant'.
Originally, SSR's family had clarified the same, going on to then accuse his girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, and her family of abetting Sushant's death.
Vikas went on to add how some of her statements do make sense, but nevertheless, are not relevant to the case. "Everyone knows nepotism exists in the industry. Sushant too must have faced discrimination. But that can't be the primary course of investigation in this case. Those can still be contributory factors, but the main case is on how Rhea and her gang tried to completely exploit and finish Sushant," he said.
