The Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) distributed multi-colour waste bags among the residents of Satellite Town on Thursday.
The RWMC Managing Director (MD) said that the bags were distributed in 400 households in the area. The green bags were meant to dispose kitchen waste, blue for paper material, and red for metals.
Apart from this, RWMC distributed yellow-colored waste bags for dumping plastic and glass material. Talking to the locals, the RWMC chief urged to put the garbage in these bags that would be collected by the sanitary workers. The workers would empty them and return it to the people again.
The pilot project was on trial for three months and it would be extended to other areas if remained successful, he added.
