Eight killed in 762 road accidents across Punjab

872 people sustained injuries in the past 24 hours

At least eight people were killed whereas 872 others sustained injuries in 762 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Out of the total injured, 537 victims were seriously injured who were shifted to different hospitals. In addition to this, 335 minor injured victims were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams, thus reducing the burden of hospitals.

The majority, around 70 per cent, involved motorcycles. Further analysis showed that 392 drivers, 27 underage drivers, 133 pedestrians and 355 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes. The statistics showed that 174 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 191 victims, placing the provincial capital at the top of the list followed by 74 RTCs in Faisalabad with 88 victims and Multan at third with 63 RTCs and 68 victims.
