A family was robbed on a busy road of Rawalpindi late on Monday.

Adeel Nasir told the Naseerabad Police that his family was to attend a wedding ceremony.

Four armed robbers, riding on two motorbikes, intercepted their car opposite a farmhouse on Dhoke Syedan Road around 9 pm. The robbers broke the window of the elderly driver, injuring him. Holding up the car on gunpoint, they robbed jewelry worn by the women and other valuables.

In all, the robbers looted around 27 tolas of gold from complainant's mother, paternal aunt, and wife at gunpoint. During the activity, one of the suspects dropped his cellphone inside their car while escaping.

Besides this, some four incidents of snatching and around 20 vehicle theft incidents were reported from different areas of Rawalpindi on the same day.
