Sukkur Police claimed on Tuesday to have gunned down a criminal, who was in its most-wanted list, during an encounter and found a motorcycle and Kalashnikov in his possession.
Sukkur SSP Irfan Samo said that Pano Aqil Police got a tip-off that a gang of robbers, led by Nabi Bakhsh Kharoos, was committing a robbery near Link Road. He said when police reached the spot, they had an exchange of fire with the robbers, where one of the robbers was shot and killed while others managed to escape.
He said that the body was identified as that of a most wanted-criminal, Kharoos, hailing from Bachal Shah Miani in Sukkur.
SSP Samo stated Kharoos was wanted in 17 cases, adding that a Kalashnikov and ammunition were recovered in his possession.
