Officials inspect railway stations from Karachi to Kotri

14-hour-long inspection commenced from the Cantt Station

KARACHI:

Pakistan Railways Divisional Superintendent (DS) in Karachi Arshad Salam Khattak, along with divisional officers, carried out the annual inspection of the railway stations and other structures from Karachi to Kotri on Sunday.

As part of the inspection, the officials checked the condition of railway tracks, level crossings, bridges and stations, and assessed the available record and preparedness of railway staff for coping with any untoward incidents.

The 14-hour-long inspection commenced from the Cantt Station, Karachi and ended at Kotri. During the course, the officials visited and examined records at Drigh Road, Malir, Landhi, Jumma Goth, Bin Qasim, Dhabeji, Jungshahi, Ran Pathani, Meting, Braudabad, Bholari and Kotri stations. Also, they assessed the strength of bridges between Karachi and Kotri.

Further, the crisis handling and preparedness for accidents of gatemen at level crossings along the track was examined by the DS.

The DS also talked to railway staff at the stations and level crossings, listened to their problems and directing relevant officers to immediately resolve their issues.
