Fed up with her marital life, a woman strangled her two daughters and then attempted suicide in the Dhok Ali Akbar area of Rawalpindi. The Mandra police said that the woman had married six years ago and had two daughters. But the two developed differences and used to frequently quarrel. On Thursday, after yet another quarrel, the woman asked her husband that she wanted to visit her parents’ house. At this, her husband granted her permission but forbade her from taking their children with her. This enraged the woman who strangled their daughters and drank acid to commit suicide. Police said the grandparents of the two girls were at home when the incident took place and they shifted the woman to a hospital where doctors described her condition to be out of danger. Meanwhile, Rawalpindi City Police Officer Ahsan Younis has taken notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from SP Saddar.
