There are people you look up to and then there are people who look out for you. Sometimes, they can be your favourite celeb too, as exemplified by singer Asim Azhar, who reached out to a fan to help them pay for their grandmother's cancer treatment.

Twitter user 'Osama', in a since-deleted tweet, had turned to the micro-blogging site to look for help for his grandma's treatment on August 12. Asim got wind of the tweet and replied back to the boy, asking him to check his inbox. "Osama - just DM’d you my number. Koi fikar ki baat nahi. InshaAllah sab hojayega (There's nothing to worry about. Everything will be fine, God-willing)," he tweeted.

Just a little while later, Osama announced that he received the amount required, thanking Asim for the help. "I have received the donation, courtesy of Asim Azhar. I am taking down the tweet as I will tweet only further updates now. JazakAllah (Thank you) Asim Bhai for the help," he said in an emotional tweet. If that wasn't heartwarming enough, Asim replied to Osama again, praying for his Nani's (maternal grandmother) and every elderly person's good health.

The Jo Tu Na Mila singer then clarified that he did not help the boy in an attempt to show-off or make a spectacle of it, but had a bigger motive. "Mera maqsad hargiz kisi ko dikhana bilkul nahi hai leken ye zarur hai ke shayad koi aik banda bhi dekha dekhi mai aik aur achai karday. Isse behtar kuch nahi meri nazar mai (I never meant to make a spectacle of it, but what I do wish is for one person to get inspired enough to help another human out in the same way.)" he said.

The singer received tons of praise and well wishes for his act of kindness, and here's hoping that more people rise up and help others out in much the same way. Kudos to Asim!
