Six injured in Turbat protest

Security forces lead baton-charge to disperse demonstration against power cuts.

QUETTA:

At least six people were injured when security forces lobbed tear gas shells and led a baton-charge to disperse a demonstration against power cuts in Turbat on Saturday.

Around four hundred people held a protest against lengthy power cuts and unscheduled load shedding in front of Turbat’s grid station. The protestors raised slogans against the Quetta Electricity Supply Company (QESCO) management and the government for their failure to ensure power supply in Ramazan. Demonstrators complained that they were forced to experience 18 to 20 hours of load shedding.
