Ulema urged to spread polio awareness

Deputy Commissioner Amjad Shuaib Tareen has urged the religious scholars to sensitise the parents of young children about the anti-polio drive for the eradication of the crippling disease.

Speaking at a meeting in connection with the polio campaign at his office on Thursday, he underlined the need of creating awareness in this regard.

The DC expressed hope that the ulema would come forward to safeguard children from developing the disease by inculcating awareness among the people pertaining to vaccination.
