Qalandar’s shrine to reopen on Monday
Face masks will be provided to visitors, walk-through sanitiser gates installed
The shrine of famed Sufi saint Lal Shahbaz Qalandar would be reopened for the public in Sehwan Sharif from August 17, under standard operating procedures (SOPs), announced Jamshoro deputy commissioner (DC) Capt (retd) Fareeduddin Mustafa on Wednesday.
The DC said the Sindh Auqaf Department would provide face masks to visitors, while six walk-through sanitiser gates would be installed and Rangers officials would be temporarily deputed at the shrine.
He added that two ambulances would also be present at the shrine, while a medical dispensary would be set up as well.
“Only 50 people will be allowed to enter the shrine at a time and no one will be allowed to enter without face masks,” he said, adding that it would be closed twice a day for an hour for spraying disinfectant. He further shared that only 25 people would participate in the dhamal at a time.
