Inter-faith harmony and the freedom of religion was at the centre of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision for Pakistan.
This was suggested during a virtual roundtable hosted by the British High Commission on Tuesday to demonstrate the United Kingdom’s support on freedom of religion or belief and to mark the National Minorities Day.
British High Commission’s Political Counsellor Iona Thomas OBE said that they are proud to embrace Pakistan’s immense diversity.
“August 11 is a commemoration of Pakistan’s rich diversity,” she said, adding, “As a longstanding friend of Pakistan, UK continues to support efforts towards guaranteeing freedom and coexistence of different religions.”
