RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police has issued an advisory for all tourists headed for Murree, urging them to only park at designated spots and avoid abreast parking on the hill station’s narrow roads. An extraordinary rush of people has been seen in Murree after the government lifted curbs on visiting popular tourist destinations across the country over the weekend. As a result, frequent and long traffic jams are seen on the narrow roads and alleys of the hill station. In this regard, the Rawalpindi Traffic Police - which oversees traffic and other policing matters in Murree, has issued an advisory to motorists. All incoming tourists have been asked to avoid double queuing and incorrect parking in Murree. Cars should only be parked at the designated car parks, avoid haste, exercise restraint while driving and follow the traffic rules. Further, the police have advised tourists to avoid taking selfies while parking on the road. “Do come to Murree but drive carefully,” the advisory read.
