Three more electrocuted to death in Karachi

Heavy downpours in Karachi led to a spate of rain-related deaths this week

At least three more people died of electrocution as a result of rainfall in the city on Sunday.

A man died after receiving a shock from high-tension wires while clearing rainwater from the roof of his house in Orangi Town. According to the Iqbal Market police, the deceased, identified as 38-year-old Bilal Rafiq, fell from the roof and died on the spot. The body was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Ehtisham died of electrocution in Mehran Town. The police said his family claimed he had been working at a warehouse when he was electrocuted by a fan switch. The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

Moreover, an elderly man died as a result of electrocution in Ibrahim Hyderi. The deceased, identified as 60-year-old Pappu, had reportedly been on his way to buy breakfast when he was electrocuted. The body was handed over to the family after the completion of medico-legal formalities at JPMC.
