Madonna turns to writing, working on screenplay

Madonna fans, you are in for some good news!

The Queen of Pop recently revealed that she is working on a script with Diablo Cody, the Oscar-winning writer of Juno, reported Variety. The news was announced by the Material Girl hitmaker on her Instagram. "When you’re stuck in a house with multiple injuries what do you do? Write a screenplay with Diablo Cody about…?” she captioned her post, keeping it cryptic. However, the emojis suggested that it could be music-related!

The video features Madonna and Cody huddled together, working. Cody can be seen surrounded by dated notebooks as he works on his laptop, while Madonna describes her iconic cone-bra costume from the 1990 Blond Ambition tour. That's another clue that the two could be collaborating on something related to music -perhaps even a Madonna biopic.

You can hear Madonna describing the costume to Cody, saying, "Straight pin-striped pants sit beneath the corset, it’s cut high-waisted on the leg, the garters come down here, cone bra zipped up the front and then the double-breasted suit coat goes over it."

Interestingly, if you've been a Madonna fan for a long time, you're probably aware that this isn't the first time that the pop-star has ventured into cinema. She has appeared in 17 films over the course of her long career, which included the 1991 tour documentary Madonna: Truth or Dare. She also holds directing credits for 2008's Filth and Wisdom and 2011’s W.E.

Cody himself has an impressive track record, with a Best Original Screenplay Oscar in the bag for the 2007 film Juno. He has since worked on 2009's Jennifer’s Body, Young Adult in 2011, Ricki and the Flash in 2015 and, most recently, 2018's Tully
