A shopkeeper was shot dead in the city by unidentified suspects on Walton Road in the early hours of Saturday.
The victim identified as Naseer Ahmad, 48, a resident of Farooq Colony, ran a general store. He was leaving for home after closing down the store when unidentified suspects intercepted him and opened fire at him. Resultantly, the victim suffered a bullet wound and died on the spot.
A police team reached the spot on information and shifted the body to a morgue for autopsy. Police also collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and recorded statements of the eyewitnesses. Police officials said they were investigating the matter and trying to ascertain the exact motives behind the incident.
