PESHAWAR:

Before the long-awaited Peshawar’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project is formally inaugurated, the provincial government has started distributing the special ‘Zu Cards’ which will be used to access the service.

Special Assistant to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister for Information and Local Government Kamran Bangash availed his Zu Card at the Gulbahar station of the bus service on Thursday.

On the occasion, Bangash announced that soon residents of Peshawar will get the ‘good news’ about the opening of the much-delayed BRT service.

The BRT service will completely change the mobility landscape of the provincial capital, he added.

After standing in queue for a while, Bangash got his Zu Card and took a short ride on the bus. He said every citizen must get the card to avail BRT’s facilities.

Last week, K-P Labour Minister Shaukat Yousafzai had said that the BRT project has been completed and that after test drives along its route are complete, the government will announce to officially inaugurate it.
