Police on Wednesday arrested a woman who had allegedly shot a youngster in the neck and left him to die.
However, the girl told the police that the victim used to blackmail and sexually assault her.
On Tuesday, police had registered a case after 22-year-old van driver Wajid Ali, who had been shot in the neck, succumbed to his wound at a local hospital.
On Wednesday, they managed to track the suspected culprit, Safina Masroor alias Nina and presented her before a judicial magistrate.
A British national but a resident of Wah Cantt, Nina confessed to shooting Wajid before the magistrate.
In her statement before the judge, Nina said that she had befriended the victim through the social messaging application WhatsApp two years ago.
She added that Ali used to blackmail her using compromising videos. Apart from asking for money, she said that Ali had repeatedly sexually assaulted her.
After shooting Wajid, Nina said she tried to flee back to England when police apprehended her. Wah police SHO Siddiq Shah said that they had recovered the murder weapon while further investigations are underway.
The court then sent the suspect to jail on judicial remand.
Meanwhile, the family of Ali accused the hospital of not providing the victim with timely medical aid leading to his death.
Ali's relatives including Rafaqat, Pervez, Imran and Hanif claimed that they could not get an ambulance and that he had to be transported to the hospital in a private car. Moreover, they claimed that the hospital staff did not treat Ali for two hours leading to his death.
