Covid-19 claims four more lives

At least 85,180 confirmed patients have recovered in the province

The Covid-19 claimed four more lives in Punjab while the number of coronavirus cases in the province exceeded 93,570 after registration of 235 new patients. Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) officials said on Wednesday that the total number of deaths caused by the disease in Punjab so far was over 2,150. The P&SHD confirmed that 52 new virus cases were reported in Lahore, one in Nankana Sahib, one in Kasur, eight in Jhelum, 30 in Gujranwala, 22 in Sialkot, one in Narowal, 18 in Gujrat, 11 in Multan, one in Khanewal, two in Vehari, three in Faisalabad, six in Sargodha and two in Bahawalnagar. Moreover, six new virus cases were reported in Bahawalpur, one in Lodhran, eight in Rajanpur, two in Layyah, two in Sahiwal, one in Okara whereas two new cases were reported in Pakpattan. The health department has conducted 749,135 tests so far while at least 85,180 confirmed patients have recovered in the province. Health department officials appealed to citizens to adopt SOPs for their protection. The people should wash their hands with soap several times in a day to protect themselves from Covid-19, the officials added.
