QUETTA:

Balochistan government spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani on Tuesday said that the province reported 34 news coronavirus cases during Eidul Azha.

“Even though we have been witnessing a declining in Covid cases we cannot say that the virus has been eradicated,” he said. “Not a single death has been reported from coronavirus in Balochistan since July 22 which is encouraging but still the general public has to continue pursuing the SOPs.”

While addressing a news conference in Quetta, Shahwani added that the next fifteen days would be very important for Balochistan because if a surge in coronavirus cases is not witnessed then educational activities could be resumed across the province.

“Citizens should be careful with implementing SOPs because cases are declining but the virus still exists,” Shahwani said. “If people don’t test themselves, we will go and test them ourselves.”

The spokesperson expressed satisfaction over government’s safety steps in cattle markets during Eidul Azha.
