Covid-19 cases drop in Sindh
243 more people had regained health from the disease
With coronavirus cases dropping around the country and in Sindh in recent weeks, the province continued to record lower infection and death tallies, with only 219 new coronavirus cases emerging on Monday while two more deaths were reported.
According to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, the new cases were detected when 4,484 tests were conducted in the province at a detection rate of five per cent. This, he added, pushed the virus tally to 121,705, while the death toll rose to 2,226 on the day.
The CM further stated that 243 more people had regained health from the disease, bringing the total recoveries in the province to 111,249.
Shah also shared that 8,230 patients were currently undergoing treatment of which 7,772 were being isolated at their homes, 449 were admitted at different hospitals and nine were at isolation centres. He added that 365 of these patients were in critical condition, with 64 shifted to ventilators.
The chief minister further stated that 95 of the new cases had emerged in Karachi, which has been a major hub of the virus since the pandemic broke out in Pakistan.
